Station 81 was built in 1975. It has:

• A shop area
• Administrative offices for the:
  • Administrative battalion chief
  • Chief
  • Company officer
  • Fire marshal
  • Fire secretary
  • On-duty battalion chief
• Day room
• Fitness area
• Kitchen
• Office/training room
• Two bays
• Two dorm areas

Vehicles

Truck 81, our aerial ladder truck, and Engine 81 respond from this station. The battalion chief command vehicle, the fire marshal's investigation vehicle and a department pickup is also stored here. We have an mobile breathing air supply trailer that is owned from Maritime Fire and Safety Association we store here. Anyone who is a member of the MFSA could request the use of this trailer in an emergency situation.

SCBA Air Bottles

We have a stand alone air compressor that is used to fill SCBA air bottles for our department and under contract, with:

• Cowlitz 2 Fire and Rescue
• Cowlitz County Fire District Number 3 - Toutle Fire Department
• Cowlitz County Fire District Number 6 - Castle Rock Fire Department
• Longview Fibre Company
• Weyerhaeuser Company

Department Overview

This station is manned by two companies and the administrative staff. One engine company and one ladder truck company respond from this station. There is a minimum of six line firefighters and one battalion chief on duty 24-hours a day. The fire marshal also works part-time out of this facility and part-time at the Community Development Department located at City Hall at:
