The Longview Public Library Celebrates Eclipse

As we look forward to the upcoming annular solar eclipse, the Longview Public Library is celebrating by hosting two upcoming events:

Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. 
Eclipse 102 Presentation

Learn the difference between an annular and total eclipse.

Find out where you can view the October 14 annular solar eclipse.

Free glasses will be available at the event for safe eclipse viewing.

Learn all this and more from Howard Knytych, member of the Rose City Astronomers and retired Astronomy Lecturer from Concordia University.

Earlier in the afternoon, the Friends of Galileo will have a hands-on demonstration of safe solar viewing out on the Library lawn, weather permitting.

Eclipse Family Story Time

Children and their grown-ups, please join us for an evening family story time eclipse event featuring stories about the sun, moon, and earth.
