Help Plan the Future of City of Longview Parks, Recreation and Open Space

Residents and non-residents are invited to help identify current and future needs related to parks, trails, recreation facilities, programs and open spaces within Longview city limits.  As the city updates the Comprehensive Plan, community involvement throughout the planning process is critical to the successfulness of the plan.  We invite you to engage in assisting the City of Longview in identifying what our parks and recreation current and future needs are so that we can provide a quality of life that residents and visitors desire.

“We are most interested in receiving input about what our community parks, recreation, and open space needs are in Longview,” explained Jennifer Wills, Director of Parks and Recreation.  “We want to hear from individuals, businesses, groups, and organizations about what matters most to make sure that we are providing those opportunities to the community.”  The data collected from the survey will be used to craft the City of Longview Parks and Recreation Comprehensive Plan; a community supported road map for the provision of high-quality parks, trails, recreation facilities, programs, and open spaces throughout the city.  The Comprehensive Plan identifies parks and recreation needs within our service area and sets forth goals, objectives, standards, and guidelines for the department.

The Comprehensive Plan Community Survey is available online at ( and will take about 10 minutes to complete.  A hard copy will also be available at the Recreation Office, 2920 Douglas Street.  The survey will close on Friday, September 30, 2022.
