Pursuant to Ordinance No. 3357 adopted by the Longview City Council and codified as LMC 7.30, Severe Weather Shelters, City Manager Kurt Sacha has determined that a severe weather event is imminent based on forecasted hot weather conditions beginning Monday, July 25, 2022. High temperatures are currently predicted by the National Weather Service to be near or above 95 degrees.
Among other things, the determination of a severe weather event enables permitted severe weather shelters to begin operating.
The City of Longview will provide a transit bus for daytime cooling on Alabama Street adjacent to the Longview City Shop.
