City of Longview welcomes Jacob Cole as new Longview Public Library Director

The City of Longview is pleased to announce that Jacob Cole will be joining the executive team as the new Longview Public Library Director, beginning June 1, 2022. Jacob brings 20 years of library experience including reference services, youth services, technology and administration.

Cole has a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Master of Arts in Library & Information Science from the University of South Florida. He comes to Longview from the Anchorage Public Library in Anchorage, Alaska. Cole was born and raised in Tampa, Florida and spent time working in Florida’s Pasco County Library System and the Temple Terrace Library.

Cole commented, “I look forward to working with the Board of Trustees, Friends of the Library, Library Foundation, and staff. We will work together to meet the educational and informational needs of Longview; enriching our community with high quality services and resources.”
