RiverCities Transit seeks public comment on revised ADA Paratransit Plan

The RiverCities ADA Paratransit plan is a living document that puts in writing RiverCities LIFT’s operational procedures. The plan clearly outlines how the complimentary paratransit service, RiverCities LIFT meets each of the federal requirements and therefore what the public can expect from LIFT.

RiverCities Transit developed the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Paratransit Plan in accordance with the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Title 49 CFR Part 37 Subpart F.

 Plan modifications of note include:

  • Establishing a Permanent Unconditional Eligibility for those applicants whose mobility is not evolving and the likely hood of new technologies is not going to change their eligibility.
  • Expansion of Visitors Eligibility
  • Establishing a Pick Up Window
  • Defining a Suspension of Service Appeals Process
  • Defining an Inclement Weather Agency Practice

RiverCities Transit Paratransit Plan will be open for public comment from March 10, 2021 thru the public hearing on April 14, 2021. You may submit a comment by visiting and completing the form, in writing by mailing your comment to RiverCities Transit, PO Box 128, Longview WA 98632; via phone at (360) 442-5663, email at, in person at the Longview Transit Center, or during the public hearing.


The Cowlitz Transit Authority will hold the public hearing virtually via Zoom, at 4:00 pm, Wednesday, April 14, 2021. During the public hearing any person interested may appear and be heard on the said matter via a moderator.
