Fire and Life Safety System Inspection Program
Fire and Life Safety System Inspection Program
All fire protection systems within the city of Longview require regular inspection, testing, and maintenance (ITM) as outlined by the International Fire Code and referenced standards.
The purpose of regular ITM is to ensure the system will operate properly in the event of an incident, minimizing the risk of life and property loss.
Longview Fire Department has partnered with Brycer, LLC and The Compliance Engine to help us track these systems and their maintenance. Effective September 15, 2020, contractors performing this work are required to send all inspection, testing, and maintenance reports to the Longview Fire Department via The Compliance Engine’s online system.
Systems tracked by the Longview Fire Department include:
· Automatic closing fire assemblies (doors, dampers, etc.)
· Clean agent suppression systems
· Commercial kitchen exhaust cleaning
· Emergency power generators
· Emergency responder radio coverage systems
· Fire alarms
· Fire escapes
· Fire pumps
· Hood suppression systems
· Paint / spray booth suppression systems
· Private fire hydrants
· Smoke control systems
· Special fire suppression systems
· Sprinkler systems
