The Lower Columbia Community Action Council Incorporated provides an opportunity for individuals and families to reach their dream of homeownership with no down payment. You build your brand new home together with other families through “sweat equity” which acts as your down payment.
Working on Your Home
Individuals participating are required to spend at least 30 hours a week constructing their home. Families work in groups with everyone working on everyone's home. This is a very labor intensive commitment by the individual and families. The hours spent on this project are in addition to any employment you may currently have.
Projects Completed
Projects completed are the:
- D. B. Story Subdivision at Colorado and Carolina Streets
- Longview: Estate Drive
- Longview: Lower Ridge Subdivision (presently under construction) on Bowmont Avenue north of Barnes Street
- Longview: Robbins Street
