Park Regulations

Complete regulations are available at Longview City Hall. A fine or civil penalty may be imposed for violations of these regulations.

Longview City Parks are for your enjoyment. Please respect these regulations so that all may enjoy their benefits. The Longview Parks and Recreation Department thanks you for your compliance.

Park Hours

  • September through May, 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • June through August, 5 a.m. to 11 p.m.

These hours don't include park crossing and continuous movement along designated walkways.  Prior approval/permission/permit is needed for sustained occupancy in a park.

Alcohol

Alcoholic beverages are prohibited in all city parks.

Tobacco

Use of tobacco products is prohibited in all parks of the City, except for areas designated as a "Tobacco Permitted Area" by signs posted by the City in the following parks:

  • 7th Avenue Park
  • Gerhart Gardens Park
  • John Null Park
  • Lake Sacajawea
  • Roy Morse Park

Provided, that this prohibition shall not apply to designated parking areas.  

Fireworks

All fireworks are prohibited.

Motor Vehicles 

Unauthorized motor vehicles are prohibited except in designated parking areas or roadways.

Fires

Open fires are prohibited. 

Flowers & Shrubs

It is unlawful to disturb, break, damage or deface any flowers, shrubs, or trees.

Littering

It is unlawful to throw, drop, or otherwise dispose of litter on the ground. Litter should be disposed of in garbage receptacles only.

Vandalism

It is unlawful to deface, damage or destroy any public building, fence, table, playground equipment or other structure.

Conduct/Noise

Disorderly conduct, amplified sound and unnecessary noise, as defined in Longview Municipal Code Chapter 13.01 is unlawful.

Animals

Large animals are prohibited. Animals must be under immediate control. No dogs in playgrounds, sports fields or where posted. No teasing or harming of animals. All pet excrement must be removed.
