Historic Preservation Program
The City of Longview is a Certified Local Government. Certified Local Governments (CLG) are municipalities that have demonstrated, through a certification process, a commitment to local preservation and saving the past for future generations.
The City of Longview encompasses vastly different forms of history, and one resource to use to look at historic buildings in the City of Longview is the Department of Archeology and Historic Preservation WISAARD tool: https://wisaard.dahp.wa.gov/
Using the WISAARD tool anyone can look at narratives, images, and many of the stories behind the City of Longview's Historic Buildings. The map tool allows citizens to look at a given area, and manipulate different data layers.
