2009/03/02 - Longview's Sister City Commission to hold first official meeting on March 4

The first official meeting of the newly-formed Sister City Commission will be held Wednesday, March 4 at 7 p.m. in the Training Room at Longview City Hall.  After a brief introduction by Susie Meyers, the City’s public information officer and past liaison with Wako, Japan, the first order of business for the Commission will be to establish bylaws and determine regular meeting dates.  Members of the public are invited to attend and give input or feedback, but may not vote on any official items being considered.

The members appointed to the Commission include:

  • Dennis Weber, Longview City Council
  • Rick Winsman, Kelso Longview Chamber of Commerce
  • Suzanne Cusick, Longview School District
  • Lars Pedersen, former teacher in Wako, Japan
  • Ramona Leber, past Longview mayor during formation of Sister City in 1999
  • Tierra  Busby, past host family
  • Tom Rozwod, past committee member
  • Eileen Bergeson, past committee member
  • Machiko Rowland, past committee member
  • Kyle Rice
  • Tom Hutchinson
