Leon Lowman has been selected as exemplifying the qualities of a Koth Gallery featured artist: someone who has made a genuine commitment to art and who continually seeks new plateaus.  Chosen to be the 2009 Hans Schaufus Featured Artist, Lowman’s work will be on display at the Longview Public Library’s Koth Gallery February 19 through March 11.

Although he has a regular full time job, Lowman is a dedicated and innovative painter. Through acrylic paint, collage and canvas, the brilliant colors come alive in pieces of art that often are as large as the ocean.   His work today is a reflection of his lifelong passion for surfing spent in, on, and around the waters of the world.  He has exhibited at the Koth Gallery previously, but this current show promises to be very memorable, given the quality he brings into his chosen medium. 

Please join us for a reception in his honor on March 5 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Koth Gallery.
