New legal employees
In an effort to provide effective legal representation and to help manage the City’s large and complex public records requests, the City Attorney’s Office recently added two new employees.
Sean Kelly is our newest Assistant City Attorney. He is a 2010 graduate of Oregon State University and a 2014 graduate of University of Oregon School of Law.
Sean was previously employed by the City of Vancouver, and has a great deal of criminal trial experience. He will be working mostly in District Court, allowing Senior Attorney Steve Shuman to devote more time to more serious crimes, public records review, and code compliance.
By increasing the number of attorneys handing District Court work, we will be able to devote more time to other functions, such as providing legal advice and training to the Police Department.
Kelly Jensen joins us as new Legal Technician/Public Records Assistant, a position jointly funded by the City Attorney’s Office and the Police Department budgets. Kelly has an Associates in Arts and Applied Science/Paralegal from Clark College. She was a paralegal for a private law firm in Vancouver, and brings her legal and organizational skills to the department. Kelly will work with legal technician Claudio Perissinotto in supporting the three Assistant City Attorneys.
As Public Records Assistant, Kelly will allow Mary Chennault to devote more time to her duties as Administrative Manager.
