Memorial Day Veterans Monument Dedication

Please join the City of Longview on Memorial Day Monday, May 29th, to celebrate the lives of Longview citizens who served their country and gave the ultimate sacrifice. The City will be unveiling and dedicating two granite monuments with the names of those who lost their lives.

The Ceremony will be held at R.A. Long Park under the Flag Pole where Broadway Street intersects the Civic Circle in front of City Hall. The ceremony will include a flag salute, words of thanks to those who served and their families, a show of appreciation to those supporters who made the monuments possible, and closing words. The program will include Congresswoman Jaime Herrera Beutler, Sheriff Mark Nelson, Retired Navy Commander Jim Stonier, Mayor Don Jensen, City Manager David Campbell, Marine Honor Guard Mt. St. Helens Detachment 889, Highlands Boy Scout Troop, and the Patriot Guard. The event will be held from 1:30 - 2:15pm.

This event is free and open to the public; all are welcome and invited to join.
