Volunteers needed for Special Olympics Swimming
Posted Date: 2/5/2018
The Longview Tiger Sharks are looking for in-water volunteers. Our team is comprised of athletes of all ages, working towards skill-based competitions. As our team grows, we need passionate and compassionate volunteers to help us provide safe and fun practices for our Special Olympics Athletes.

Volunteers help support swimmers in several ways.
• Teammates – Volunteers are an important part of our team. Together we make up the Longview Tiger sharks. Often volunteers and athletes become lifelong friends. We show up to every practice and competition ready to have fun together!
• Skills Support – Volunteers learn how to employ adaptive teaching techniques so that we can work with athletes of all skill levels. It is helpful for volunteers to have swimming and or swim lesson-teaching experience.

• Lane Leaders – Volunteers are assigned swimming lane and assist athletes with executing the day’s work out. Not only do volunteers get a good workout but they also help each athlete achieve their best workout. It is helpful for volunteers to have competitive swimming experience and endurance.

There will be a volunteer training at Kelso High School February 17, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
