The Longview Police Department will give the public a behind the scenes look during an open house from10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 19 at its main station located downtown at 1351 Hudson St.
Community members are invited to tour the police department to see the newly renovated second floor which houses the Criminal Investigations Unit and Street Crimes Unit.
Besides building tours, the open house will feature photos with McGruff the Crime Dog, demonstrations and information booths that include staff from other agencies that offer services in our community.
Attendees will be able to speak with staff and volunteers to get information about child identification kits, confiscated weapons, crime prevention, drug recognition, K9, neighborhood crime statistics, on-line police reports, police and SWAT vehicles, Taser demonstrations, Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board, Washington Department of Corrections, Cowlitz County Department of Emergency Management/911, Emergency Support Shelter, Safe Kids and more.
Visitors are asked to enter the station on the 14th Avenue side of the building instead of the main entrance located on Hudson Street.
