Personal Statement:
I was born in Longview, Washington, on May 6, 1959. My father, Harold Anagnostou was a native of this area. He and his siblings had grown up in Kelso. My father joined the Navy in 1942 when he was only 17 and was taught to be an electrician. He returned after the war, married my mother, his high school sweetheart, and started a family. I have six siblings, all of whom were born in Longview. Three sisters, one brother and a large extended family continue to reside in the local area. The Longview area is my family’s home.
My father worked as an electrician for local industries including Weyerhaeuser, Reynolds Aluminum, Longview Fibre and Crown Zeller Bach (which is now Wauna). He relocated to a Crown Zeller Bach plant in Antioch, California and retired there after 20 years. I graduated from Antioch high in 1977, the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California in 1981 with a BA, and McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento with a JD in 1985. I passed the bar exam and am licensed to practice law in Washington, California and the Federal Courts.
I returned to Longview in 1987 a became employed with Joseph Daggy, a Kelso Native. We formed Daggy & Anagnostou, P.S., a professional services corporation. We provide assistance with a wide variety of legal matters, including estate planning, corporations, personal injury, wrongful death, civil litigation, wills, business law, contract disputes, real estate, divorce, child custody, child support and other general civil matters. I am a past president of the Cowlitz Wahkiakum Bar Association. I have successfully argued cases before Division II of the Washington State Court of Appeals and The Supreme Court of Washington. I thoroughly enjoy my practice of law.
I married Debra on December 15, 1990, and we have three sons: Alexander (16), Sammy (15) and Kaleb (9). I have the greatest kids. They are involved (which means I am involved) in baseball, football, soccer, wrestling, Boy Scouts, violin, church youth group, school work and friends. In addition, I am a long time member of the Pioneer Lions Club, Longview Sandbaggers and St. Rose Knights of Columbus. Did I mention that my wife and I own a small business - two small multi-unit apartments? Through my work on Longview City Council, my professional work and my community service, I seek to be proactive in making our community a great place to live, work and play.
